  • Barnes & Noble (B&N) introduces the new NOOKcolor e-book reader with a full color touchscreen display for delivering digital books, magazines, newspapers and children’s books in “immersive, gorgeous” color. The reader comes with a 7-inch VividView color 1024 x 600 IPS touchscreen display with ability to display over 16 million colors and an extra wide viewing angle.
    The NOOKcolor comes with built-in WiFi wireless connectivity allowing users to get books, magazines and newspaper online as well as check email and surf the web. It has 8GB built-in memory that is enough for up to 6,000 e-books and supports microSD/SDHC card up to 32GB. This new NOOK reader supports ePUB, PDF, XLS, DOC, PPT, PPS, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX document files as well as JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP images. It can also handle playback of MP3, AAC audio and MP4 video, and is pre-loaded with Pandora internet radio NOOK app, Chess and Sudoku games and Crossword puzzles. You can find built-in mono speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack.
    B&N’s NOOKcolor is portable and lightweight, measuring 8.1(H) x 5(W) x 0.48-inches (D) at 15.8 ounces. NOOKcolor is available for pre-order for $249 and is expected to begin shipping on or about November 19.
