Tata Docomo Offers Free 3G Services For 7 Days

We recently posted that Tata Docomo’s 3G services will go live from tomorrow midnight and now we have another breaking news. Tata Docomo recently posted in their Facebook page that their 3G services will start from November 5th and they will offer free 3G services for the first 7 days. Tata Docomo users can enjoy free 3G services on their mobile phones and USB modem from November 5th to November 11th midnight.


Tata Docomo has won 3G license in nine circles – Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra. Tata Docomo subscribers from these nine circles can enjoy free 3G services for the 7 days on their 3G devices.

Tata Docomo’s 3G Network supports high-speed Internet access with speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps. The network also supports HD Voice for a superior voice experience on calls. Tata Docomo will offers 3G services like Mobile TV,Video-SMS, Video-Streaming, Route-Finder, Live Aarti and much more.

Airtel To Launch 3G Services By December End

Bharti Airtel, which has been at the forefront of the mobile revolution in India, recently announced that it will launch its 3G services before the end of 2010. Tata Docomo and Vodafone have already announced their 3G services services in India. Tata Docomo will launch their 3G services within two weeks, in Diwali, while Vodafone will launch their 3G services in Q1 of 2011.
Mr. Sanjay Kapoor, CEO – India and South Asia, Bharti Airtel said, “3G services will mark the beginning of the next phase of India’s telecom growth story and elevate India’s telecom sector at par with most advanced telecom markets in the world. 3G services have the potential to transform the lives of millions of Indians by taking a variety of life enhancing services on high speed broadband to the remotest corners and bridge the digital divide. In addition, 3G services will have a strong multiplier effect on economic growth and bring in enhanced efficiencies. It will be Airtel’s endeavor to lead India’s journey on the information superhighway with world-class 3G services.”
AirTel grabbed 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India – Mumbai, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East, Jammu & Kashmir. These 13 telecom circles also constitute 68% of Airtel’s revenue market share. This includes key metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad,which account for 21% of all data traffic in the country and are expected to have the strongest uptake of 3G services.

Tata Docomo To Launch 3G Services This Diwali

Tata Docomo, known for bringing many firsts in the Indian Telecom industry, will now also become the first private Telecom player to launch 3g cellular services in India – this diwali. Other operators like Vodafone and Reliance are likely to announce their respective 3G services launch date soon.

Mr Deepak Gulati (President of Mobility, Tata Teleservices Ltd) said, “We are all set to launch 3G services on Diwali. With this customers will have access to high speed Internet access and rich multimedia content and applications. Our partners NTT DoCoMo are leaders in 3G services and we are leveraging their expertise to bring the best to our customers.”

Tata Docomo has initial plans of launching their 3G service in all the top cities of the states where Tata Docomo has presence – Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Haryana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh (East). Tata Tele has also given the 3G equipment contract to Nokia Siemens and Chinese vendor Huawei.
